KEN ZABLOCKI

Ken Zablocki started the original business, S C Consulting Services, back in 1983, which served individuals who would constantly ask him for advice on their taxes. From there, the business grew to involve sole proprietors and small corporations that he could help throughout the year.

He originally completed a Business Administration diploma in 1971 from Mount Royal College (now MRU) and continued on to receive an RIA designation through University of Calgary back in 1975. Ken gained his accounting experience in typical Albertan fashion – working in the oil patch as a Senior Accountant. He expanded his accounting and business knowledge through various programs offered by SAIT and other developed organizations internationally. He became more involved in taxation and understanding the ins and outs of an overly-complicated Canadian tax system. He has over 40 years of experience in Taxation and is a general fountain of knowledge on the subject matter.

Ken incorporated the company in 2019 and changed the name to Zablocki & Associates Inc. due to the expansion of the business and to directly involve Chris & Reece in its future.

CHRIS zablocki

Chris Zablocki has worked in accounting his entire adult life. Before that, he assisted Ken in advertising the business and providing support on individual tax returns and bookkeeping. In the last couple of decades, Chris had supported S C Consulting Services seasonally while earning experience in several areas of accounting, supply chain management and consulting through several companies of different size and industry.

He completed the Accelerated Accounting Certificate and Diploma programs at SAIT, and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Management (Accounting) in 2009 from the University of Lethbridge. He then entered into the CPA program to expand his knowledge on services that could better serve their clients, not only in taxation, but also in other areas such business analysis and performance management.

reeCe zablocki

Reece Zablocki trained and worked as a pastor before transitioning to accounting.  She worked in the accounting department of a property management company in downtown Calgary for six years.  In 2019, she joined S C Consulting Services full-time to work with Ken, her father-in-law, as she missed working with individuals and small businesses directly.

Prior to taking accounting courses at SAIT, she had received a Bachelor of Arts from Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, and a Master’s degree from AMBS (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) in Elkhart, Indiana.

Reece has a specialty in dealing with lease and ownership agreements and summarizing large bodies of text that help clients understand the fine print that can be hidden in tax legislation.
